This pie is often made from canned pumpkin or packaged pumpkin pie filling (spices included); this is a seasonal product available in bakeries and grocery stores, although it is possible to find year-round.

Ingredients
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin
  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust

Directions
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Whisk pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, spices and salt in medium bowl until smooth. Pour into crust. Bake 15 minutes.
  • Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F and continue baking 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted 1 inch from crust comes out clean. Cool. Garnish as desired. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.

This was so much simpler than I was worrying pumpkin pie would be! It would have been even simpler if I had used canned pumpkin but I was happy to use the sugar pie ones! Great recipe, thanks Eagle Brand! Also thanks to the folks who suggested pre-baking the shell a bit.

My daughter wanted Pumpkin Pie for her birthday and this was the recipe I made...It was awesome! The best I've ever tried. I didn't have the ginger or nutmeg. So improvised with 2tsp Cinnamon and a 1/2tsp allspice & also used a graham cracker crust.....it was such a hit with all my family that I've been nominated to make the pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving! Soooo soooo good :)
